GOVERNMENT

1 Timothy 2:1 “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

Our Father, at your urging, I come before you to pray for our officials. Our elected and our appointed officials on every level of government. For the President of the United States, for his cabinet. I pray for the members of Congress. I pray for our mayor, our city councilpersons, our county commissioners, our governor. I lift up every government worker to You, Lord. I intercede for their every need, none of which is outside your power to take care of. Let us, through them, live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness, as it pleases You and Jesus Christ. You have told us that you want all of us to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Save our leaders, our President, our Congressmen, our elected and appointed officials on every level. Let your Holy Spirit sow the seeds of knowledge and truth in them. Lead them to salvation, Lord! Our lives under the authority of saved men and women, filled with the Holy Spirit, will give us the lives that You want us to lead before you in love. I pray it all in the Name Above All Names, Jesus the Christ. Amen.
