PRAYER
My Father, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you. As I pray with understanding, and as I pray in the spirit, assist me in setting my mind on the things that are of concern to you, not just on the things that are upon earth. You know what I have need of, and you know my needs before I petition you. So I can leave vain imaginations alone when I pray. I can forget about any “high” thing that is exalted in our culture against the knowledge of you, and I can pray genuinely and passionately, rejecting every stray thought, and bringing every thought of substance into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Then, you will keep me in perfect peace, because my prayers and my mind are fixed on you. I trust you, Lord. I know you hear my prayers, and having heard them, you will answer. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
